|Visionary Landmark Award|
This award acknowledges an outstanding development in Little Rock that provides a landmark in the city’s landscape.
The City’s namesake rock formation on the banks of the Arkansas River, referred to as “La Petite Roche” by French explorer Bernard de la Harpe in 1722, became a landmark for the most convenient river crossing and the site of La Harpe’s Trading Post.
As the “La Petite Roche” landmark directed travelers to the settlement later known as Little Rock, this new landmark is also an attraction and will be a significant presence in the city’s landscape.
The awardee is recognized in front of the Little Rock Board of Director's meeting with an inscribed clear acrylic boulder-shaped award (reminiscent of the rock landmark) and a long-stemmed red rose.
Certificates of appreciation are given to all the members of the project team (owner/developer, design constultants, contractors).
